How much money does a solar panel produce?

Solar PV is a very predictable form of energy. The government sets the expected amount for sunlight for installations based on the orientation, tilt and level of shading allowing us to estimate pretty accurately what you are likely to earn each year.

Below are examples of three different types of installations which show the generation figures and expected annual return based on the current Feed-in Tariff.

Flat roof

Installing solar panels on a flat roof requires planning permission. The panels have to be mounted on an ‘A’ frame so that they get the maximum efficiency from the system.
